About

Danette Moulé offers in-home piano lessons in south-central Edmonton for all ages. Danette will come to you in the Whyte Ave. area, and surrounding areas. Whether you’re a complete beginner, an intermediate player, or an advanced piano player, Danette can help you go further. We’ll work on what you want to work on, and play what you want to play.

Danette has performed all over western Canada, and most recently did a classical performance at the Yukon Arts Centre in Whitehorse. Danette is known for being a jack of all trades, skilled in classical, pop, rock, blues, and playing by ear. She also enjoys recording, mixing piano with other instruments and synthetic sounds. Check out her one woman band on Soundcloud here! Ever the student, Danette is currently studying jazz.

Lessons are currently being offered in person, in the comfort of your own home, but may also be offered remotely via video platform if you live outside the area.

Why private lessons?

Many music schools these days are pushing group lessons. Danette herself was persuaded to try group lessons when she started learning guitar. She soon quit and started improving on guitar quickly afterwards, with the help of Youtube and private lessons. Group lessons allow schools to charge nearly the same as private lessons, while the student gets much less personal attention, and the school makes much more money! You get what you pay for. In private lessons, the student gets 100% of the teacher’s attention. The teacher is able to troubleshoot issues with technique immediately. Since each student is unique, as are their needs, this is important. Due to this personal attention, students will learn quicker in private lessons. Students also feel more comfortable asking questions in private lessons. Group lessons may be satisfactory for complete music beginners, but if you want to advance, private lessons are necessary. For children in the same family who are new to music, Danette can offer group lessons to that family, if preferred.

Rates

Students book month-to-month. Lessons can be 30 min. long (for younger kids), 45 min., or one hour for teenagers and adults. Rates are:

• $35 – 30 min lesson ($140 / month)
• $50 – 45 min lesson ($200 / month)
• $60 – 60 min lesson ($240 / month)
